STRESS B-COMPLEX

We have developed a hi-strength B-complex, which is designed to be used as both a potent B vitamin supplement and as an effective formulation for stress. This is achieved through the careful combining of herbs and nutrients specific in the treatment of stress.

There are as many different causes of stress as there are people but the body’s response to stress has not changed in thousands of years. This response is essential when physical action (fight or flight) is needed and as increase in blood sugar supply to the muscle is required urgently.

The body’s response to excessive stress can be likened to a muscle that has been worked too hard for too long. It gets tired and then requires a period of rest to recover. If it keeps getting worked then eventually damage will occur.

Over a long period of time this leads to a variety of symptoms including fatigue, skin problems, allergies, recurring colds and flu.

B-vitamins are all water soluble and not stored efficiently by the body. Thus they are needed daily through either diet or supplements. Deficiencies occur easily especially with weight loss diets or diets that include large amounts of refined and processed foods, sugars or alcohol. Antibiotics will also kill the intestinal flora therefore decreasing the potential to produce B-vitamins.

FUNCTIONS

B-vitamins provide energy by acting with enzymes to convert carbohydrates to glucose. They also play a major role in fat, protein and amino acid metabolism.

B-complex vitamins are also important for the normal functioning of the nervous system, and are especially indicated where stress and fatigue are present. The health of the skin, hair, eyes, liver and mucosal linings are all influenced by B-vitamins.

B-vitamins are best taken together, as no B-vitamins are found in isolation and they often need each other to perform best.

When the amount of B-vitamins taken exceeds the body’s needs the excess is easily excreted in the urine, giving urine a dark yellow colour.

Since there are many deficiencies, taking modest excesses is really of no concern and is often helpful to people.

Magnesium is included for relaxation. Magnesium relaxes smooth muscle and helps in the conversion of blood sugar to energy. Valerian and Vervain, herbs used for centuries to help the body cope with stress, have been added as nerve relaxants.

The adrenals are supported through Ginseng, Licorice and Vitamin C, which also enhance the body’s utilisation of B-complex vitamins.

This carefully combined the formulation works synergistically to help the body cope with stress and address any B-vitamins deficiencies.
